InBed.Me is a social booking site for travelers. This is a great platform that connects people and local businesses organically while growing global communities.
I was at the InBed.me launch party yesterday hosted at the HI USA hostel in NYC. The energy in the room was awesome and founders Diego Saez-Gil and Alex Torrenegra were great hosts.

Some people have a natural ability for pattern recognition.
Etsy’s got a wonderous video campaign running. They’re producing individual indie films about craftspeople from across the world, like only an indie film maker could do. In the process, they’re promoting the love of hand made products and driving traffic to their site.
Telling stories works, and it’s easy to forget that sometimes the people just need great content. Sometimes it’s really that easy. From 22GL.

Social networking site Diaspora co-founder and open web enthusiast Ilya Zhitomirskiy, passed away suddenly on Saturday night November 12, 2011.
Ilya poetically spoke code and was an idealist for the Digital Age. He was Free Culture warrior and inspiration for the Adjustment Generation that’s at the intersection of culture, technology and media.
We have the power to shape the future, start revolutions and communicate faster than ever before. Now that we have a powerful platform, how are the rest of us going to use our voice?

“The time will come when every change shall cease, this quick revolving wheel shall rest in peace: no summer then shall glow, nor winter freeze; nothing shall be to come, and nothing past, but an eternal now shall ever last.” ~ Petrarch

How a geek girl is able to communicate with her peers might be best pinned to how comfortable she feels in her own skin, especially when talking about her area of geek expertise. If she’s surrounded by people who don’t understand her world, then she’ll shut up tighter than a clam. However, if our she-geek is among kindred spirits who understand her quirks and quips, then I think she can schmooze with the best of them. — (“Geek Girls Unite” author Leslie Simon @geekgirlsunite)
Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things. And the reason they were able to do that was that they’ve had more experiences or they have thought more about their experiences than other people.
Unfortunately, that’s too rare a commodity. A lot of people in our industry haven’t had very diverse experiences. So they don’t have enough dots to connect, and they end up with very linear solutions without a broad perspective on the problem. The broader one’s understanding of the human experience, the better design we will have.

“The way I celebrate life is through the making of sculpture. I sculpt women, earthy, vulnerable, open, sexy, joyful, pained and exuding life. The woman’s pelvis cradles the world” -Ella Tulin
Skins is my new obsession! Just finished watching Season 1, Episode 10, “Eura.”
There are so many things I love about this show and this episode in particular, but right now I’d like to highlight one-Stanley.
Skins character Stanley is played by a young, very talented actor Daniel Flaherty. In this last episode Stanley plays acoustic guitar and sings to Daisy in his room, but we hear the same song, different version, towards the end of the episode.
The more polished version of the mystery song goes like “She Smells Like Flowers And Tastes Like Butter” and the artist is still Daniel Flaherty. What is the title of the song? Where can I find it? My mission tonight was to find this song.
In my crazed online search I found out something so delicious, Danny is indeed a singer/songwriter. You can listen to his music here.
Thank You MTV for taking a chance on this show, it was the smartest decision you have made in a while. I am proud to say that I am a fan of your network again.
Deep inside I am still the hopeful seventeen year old version of myself, even after some brutal years of living in New York City. And the music in this show, along with the story, and perfectly delivered lines transport me right back to the carefree state of mind, where ideas bloomed and every day was an adventure.
My childlike enthusiasm is revived and I am bursting with creativity.

Prediction, in the next season of Skins, Stanley is going to have some serious stage time.
