I recently got a credit for styling a shoot with Summer Rayne Oaks for her new book Style, Naturally.

Summer did a fantastic job in putting together a fun book about style and sustainability. Being green is très chic!

I love styling and fashion. Above all, I love designers that contribute to the fight for conscientious global economy and work with environmentally friendly fabrics.

My most recent favorite brand is Corso Como. Their shoes are hand-assembled in Brazil in the most elite boutique factories, and made out of finest, environmentally friendly materials.

To advocate various enviornmental and social causes, a portion of every sale is donated to charity.

Eco-Friendly Fashion

A few years ago I had a pleasure of producing and styling a shoot with Summer Rayne Oaks, an Eco-friendly model, environmental expert, host and board adviser for the Discovery Channel’s Planet Green Eco-lifestyle.

I selected a dress by a New York designer Gina Michele and Summer ended up using the dress in a commercial for the Discovery Channel’s Planet Green.

Most people are under the impression that Eco-friendly lifestyle is not cost-effective. On the contrary, you can find many affordable and environmentally friendly brands.

Sustainable shoes for under $30?

In April 2009, visit your local Payless store and check out Summer Rayne Oaks line Zoe & Zac.

The line, complete with jewlery and handbags, will offer colorful alternatives to “muted” green color schemes and includes pinks and purples.
